"As Latinx students, we want to give a voice to those in our community who feel as though they don't have one. With the current rhetoric and stigma against undocumented folx, it is important for us to let their voices be heard. This production was inspired by undocumented and first generation students at UC Irvine and the surrounding communities. These are the stories of everyday people. This is a story about Familia. This unique project is the first collaboration between UC Irvine's Dream Center and Brown Bag Theater Company. Our hope is to create a new dialogue about undocumented folx that is not distorted by the media which reinforces negative stereotypes."
